Naver stifling economic creativity, start-ups say

In spite of each South Korean president’s pledge to help small- and medium-sized companies compete in the Korean market, the results tend to be puny.

The lackluster results may be a result of under-motivation by regulators in the face of the overwhelming influence of the market’s big players, and/or, as in this case, the technology and its applications confuse the bureaucrats.

Whatever may be the situation, this is a good case study of how business actually works within this economy.
